Chablis, at its finest is the greatest expression achieved by the Chardonnay grape. It is also damn fine at the middle level.

This is from one of our favorite producers. We have offered out his wines many times as we (The autonomous collective of board members) find this to be one of the best and most consistent values for really good Chablis wine.

Stephen Tanzer says of the 2009 Domaine A. & F. Boudin Chablis Fourchaume:

Good bright yellow. High-toned aromas of lemon zest, quince and orange blossom. Fat and dense but with surprising acidity and firm minerality giving this wine attractive mid-palate energy. The lingering finish features a salty note and repeating yellow fruits. This strikes me as quite fresh for the vineyard in this vintage

It is a rather dense style which also makes this a great all Chardonnay fans favorite Chablis. I also like and agree with his comment about, “lingering finish features a salty note and repeating yellow fruits.” It is that salt/fruit contrast that really makes Chablis distinct.

A fantastic batch from a favorite producer, I recommend this as a solid 1er Cru Chablis for an awesome price. An excellent food wine, already my pick for Autumn Feasting!
