2005 Bordeaux Bargain

This is one of the Bordeaux that we offered out back in June. If you ordered it at that time, you have been contacted as the wine has finally arrived. Before accepting the delivery, however, we requested to retaste the wine again to be certain that we still liked it as much as we had in June. We also insisted that they compensate our members who ordered so long ago and never received the wine, and they did.

Upon tasting this one particular wine again Rives and I were blown away for a second time. This stuff is just awesome and so we secured 10 more cases above our original order to offer to all the new members who never received the first offer and to anyone who missed out and would like to try an awesome Bordeaux.

Here is my original note:

The wine here is unbelievable Bordeaux for the price and if great, inexpensive Bordeaux is something you like to keep around the house then I can not recommend it highly enough.

The stand out for me and Sidders on the 12 wines tasted that day was a 2005 Chateau Fonguillon, Montagne-St-Emilion I ordered 10 cases but I may be able to get more. The quality represented in this Bordeaux is exceptional with a highly expressive bouquet and a nice meaty, full delivery on the palate. The sum up was of classic Cru level Bordeaux with the power of a great vintage behind it.

The best part is that it is under $15 and drinking like something you would expect to pay mid $20’s for. At this price it is a buy by the case and drink a few times a week, holy-crap-I can’t-believe-this-wine-is-this-good-for-that-price bargain and I give it a strong recommendation for all palates, delicious enough for anytime drinking and with food alike.
