Your Communications Partner
Social Media Strategy
Let us review all your online communications, establish a monitoring infrastructure, recommend publishing and listening opportunities, create month-by-month social media plan and help you execute it with your team.
We look for newsworthy marketing and communication opportunities for your organization, write and distribute news releases, create content for trade show materials, websites, trade publications, and industry events.
We will help you discover, or re-discover who you are, who your audience is and the best way to communicate your mission across multiple media and technology channels.
Even in your company’s best of times, things don’t always go perfectly. Our highly trained PR professionals can help you develop worst-case scenario strategies for publicly addressing negative issues transparently and honestly via social channels, news media, and internal communications.
Social Media Training
Social marketing relies on an ever-growing and changing list of technology platforms to be successful, even if we wish it weren’t the case. Let us help! We develop and lead small group training (up to 10 employees) on topics such as:
- Utilizing LinkedIn to develop client relationships
- How to be engaged on Facebook as an employee
- Understanding Twitter as a promotional tool
- How to create and edit compelling video and audio presentations
We also offer one-on-one executive sessions which are an intensive, hands-on training for an individual who is looking to create an online identity through LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook from scratch. This is essentially a social media boot camp which lasts up to three hours and will answer all the questions you have about what companies and individuals are using today. This workshop is especially for those who need step-by-step instruction and focused attention to answer questions and update accounts.
Were you an idiot, once upon a time? (“Yes.”) Did you share your idiocy publicly, say, via social media? (Hangs head, “yes.”) Are you an idiot now? (“NO!”) Well, good….
know you’re thinking you know what I’m going to say . . . that I’m going to say, “Just. Don’t.” but that would make for a very short post, and isn’t, in fact, what I’m thinking at all. (You don’t know me!)
For many brands, the election and its aftermath are totally irrelevant and they should, in fact, not try to leverage the news cycle and trending topics. BAD IDEA; don’t do this.

“Thanks to Marijean’s coaching, social media became a central and important component of the communication plan for Shenandoah National Park’s 75th Anniversary Celebration in 2011. The social media community we built for that cause has stayed with us and continues to provide great momentum for the national park.”Susan ShermanExecutive Director, Shenandoah National Park Trust
"Working with Marijean Jaggers was exactly what I wanted. Marijean was very knowledgeable, excellent to work with. If you are looking for someone to help with social networking media, Marijean Jaggers is the person to contact."John SanbornSenior Business Account Manager, Virginia Business Interiors
“Marijean worked with our company on a digital/social media strategy in mid-2009 that continues to pay dividends more than a year later. Her work was focused on a long-term strategy that would allow us to build a successful culture of social media planning and execution, not a one-time, one size-fits-all solution. That culture soon followed, and her leave behind materials and knowledge set us up to continue building on that success."Brad Ramsey VP and General Manager at Charlottesville Newsplex
"Marijean is a super-talented individual with a deep understanding of the many forms of communication and public relations. She has successfully used her many talents to assist Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport with social media set-up and training, crisis communications planning and execution, development of CHO’s strategic communications plan, and many other matters. She instills trust in management of confidential information and key business data, and while a consummate professional, is delightful to work with."Barbara Hutchinson, C.M.former Executive Director of Charlottesville Albemarle Airport
“After having been a bricks + mortar store for 18 years, it was time that Scarpa became a presence in the online communities that its customers where involved in. Marijean has helped us manage the transition beautifully and become a player in our online community. If you know you need more of presence online, but don’t know how to manage the transition, Marijean is your girl!”Kai’li MillnerSocial Media Manager, Scarpa
"Marijean’s insights and counsel have increased our understanding of the value of social media and improved our efficiency. She understands our limited capacity to devote to maintaining social media, and has taught us to think strategically about what is most valuable to communicate. As a result, we have seen substantial growth in our Twitter and Facebook followers. We are currently working with Marijean to understand what we can do as an organization to manage and promote our identity and the value of our work – rather than having just one or two individuals focusing on this effort. Every conversation with Marijean improves our social media literacy and competency – we have made measurable gains as a result."Wes MyhreDonor Relations Manager, Legal Aid Justice Center
“Marijean understands progressive brand positioning and communications better than anyone we have observed. She is a diamond find for our organization!”Nikki HastingsVice President, Laboratory Operations
"While we are a well established local business, we realized that in order to continue to attract new patients, we needed to establish a real presence in the marketing realm. Marijean was amazing in walking us through the process and then providing hands-on guidance. In just a few short months we are experiencing renewed growth in our business. She made it reasonable to attain and fun!"Jo ViglioneMarketing Director
