“A Night In South Africa” – Wine Tasting & Pop-Up Restaurant

Open to the public and just $5, our next tasting and pop-up restaurant will feature wines from legendary South Africa. We’ll also be offering food from Kitchen Catering and Events and cheese plates by Flora Artisanal Cheese. So, come hungry, bring friends and make a night of it. We love seeing new faces. We’ll get started at 5:30pm and will go until 8:30ish.

ABOUT THE WINES:

Domaine Vincent Carême, Swartland Terre Brûlée (2015)
A decadent Chenin for any occasion, this luxurious bottling offers notes of honeysuckle and citrus which are balanced by a bright, seamless acidity.

Lourensford, The Dome Chardonnay (2014)
Tropical fruit and orange blossom aromas lead to flavors of white peach with a caramel, nutty undertone that lingers on the textured, luxurious finish. The natural fermentation provides a brilliant linear acidity and substantial core with just enough layered sweetness, resulting in a round, balanced palate.

DeMorgenzon, Maestro White (2014)
Concentrated aromas and flavors of orange and yellow stone fruit combine with notes of spice and zesty citrus fruit. The palate is full and textured leading to a long, lingering finish that is abundant in honeysuckle and frangipani.

Kanonkop, Stellenbosch Kadette (2014)
“The wine has a deep ruby, red color. It shows ripe raspberries, black currant and mocha flavors on the nose and has dark chocolate and blackberry fruit on the palate. This wine has good length with a dry finish and can mature for 7-8 years. With a reputation for producing some of the Cape’s finest red wines, the heralded Kanonkop Estate is often referred to as a South African “First Growth.” The fourth generation family farm has been owned and operated by the Sauer-Krige family since the early 1930s

De Toren, Stellenbosch Z Red Blend (2013)
The wine has a rich, dense, almost purple, plum color. Vibrant aromas of black and red cherries layered with hints of vanilla, “herb de Provence”, and clove spice entice the senses. These dovetail into lovely nuances of creamy red fruit, supported by a gentle minerality. On the pallet, flavors of blueberries, black currant, and red cherries evolve into a dense, rich finish, perfectly balanced by a clean acidity. The wine boasts fine, creamy, mouth coating tannins which contribute to a long, sophisticated finish.
