Limited to 50 people. Reserve today!

One of my all time favorite presenters returns.

A tasting with Jake Parrott is so much fun. It’s an interactive experience where you’ll taste a delicious Aperitif, then he’ll add something like citrus peel or dark chocolate, and have you taste it again. Suddenly the wine is on a new level and your palate is awakened to a delicious new experience. We’re so fortunate to have lured Jake to Charlottesville again. Don’t miss this.

About The Wines

Madfish, Vera’s Cuvée Sparkling White
This has enough fruit to stand up to yams or be the perfect party starter. The bouquet shows Chardonnay’s fresh citrus and mineral notes and Pinot Noir’s soft plush red berries. On the palate, these primary fruit notes are enriched with freshly baked pastries and a creamy texture. A rich style. – 90 pts James Halliday.
$20.80
(Regularly $26.00)

Forge Cellars, Riesling Classique 2014
This has a plump core of yellow apple and melon flavors, offset by hints of lemon zest and apple skin along the edges. A light fennel note leaves a tangy hint on the finish as this opens steadily in the glass. Forge Cellars makes some of the best Riesling and Pinot Noir in the Finger Lakes of New York.  – 91 pts. Wine Spectator.
$21.59
(Regularly $26.99)

Castello di Bossi, Toscana Rosato 2015
A blend of 70% Sangiovese and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon from 40-year-old vines. On the nose, it immediately asserts its Italian heritage with aromas of dusty earth and Mediterranean herbs layered over fresh cherries and tart cranberry. On the palate, the wine shows a defined structure with bright acidity and brilliant depth of flavor. The finish is long and balanced.
$15.20 (Regularly $19.00)

Cloudline, Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2014
Vinified under the careful eye of consulting winemaker Véronique Drouhin-Boss, Cloudline has quietly become one of Oregon’s most successful brands, and the Pinot Noir remains true to its reputation for high-quality and value. Given our love for Pinot Noir and how well it goes with Thanksgiving foods, this was an easy pick.
$19.19 (Regularly $23.99)

Green & Red Vineyard, Napa Valley Zinfandel Chiles Canyon Vineyard 2013
A rich, hearty, spicy Zin that offers black cherry liqueur, licorice, black pepper, mint, French roast coffee and boysenberries followed by a long finish of spice, fruit, and just a little soil.
$23.00 (Regularly $29.00)

Andrew Rich, Willamette Valley Gewürztraminer 2014
Oregon Ice Wine! This is what I want at my Thanksgiving table. Aromas and flavors that seem more tropical than Pacific Northwest: pineapple, guava, passion fruit, with perhaps some peach nectar for good measure. Juicy acidity keeps the texture from becoming syrupy while lengthening the finish.
$25.60 (Regularly $32.00)

About The Food:

By Kitchen Catering & Events

Butternut Squash Ravioli  – $17
Served in a Wild Mushroom and Leek Sauce

Grilled Bistro Tender Steak – $19
Served with a Bordelaise sauce, Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans

Seared Rockfish – $19
Served with parsnip and beet puree and crispy shallots

ABOUT THE WINES:

Domaine Vincent Carême, Swartland Terre Brûlée (2015)
A decadent Chenin for any occasion, this luxurious bottling offers notes of honeysuckle and citrus which are balanced by a bright, seamless acidity.
$16.00 (Regularly $20.00)

Lourensford, The Dome Chardonnay (2014)
Tropical fruit and orange blossom aromas lead to flavors of white peach with a caramel, nutty undertone that lingers on the textured, luxurious finish. The natural fermentation provides a brilliant linear acidity and substantial core with just enough layered sweetness, resulting in a round, balanced palate.
$18.40 (Regularly $23.00)

DeMorgenzon, Maestro White (2014)
Concentrated aromas and flavors of orange and yellow stone fruit combine with notes of spice and zesty citrus fruit. The palate is full and textured leading to a long, lingering finish that is abundant in honeysuckle and frangipani.
$23.20 (Regularly $29.00)

Kanonkop, Stellenbosch Kadette (2014)
“The wine has a deep ruby, red color. It shows ripe raspberries, black currant and mocha flavors on the nose and has dark chocolate and blackberry fruit on the palate. This wine has good length with a dry finish and can mature for 7-8 years. With a reputation for producing some of the Cape’s finest red wines, the heralded Kanonkop Estate is often referred to as a South African “First Growth.” The fourth generation family farm has been owned and operated by the Sauer-Krige family since the early 1930s
$13.60 (Regularly $17.00)

De Toren, Stellenbosch Z Red Blend (2013)
The wine has a rich, dense, almost purple, plum color. Vibrant aromas of black and red cherries layered with hints of vanilla, “herb de Provence”, and clove spice entice the senses. These dovetail into lovely nuances of creamy red fruit, supported by a gentle minerality. On the pallet, flavors of blueberries, black currant, and red cherries evolve into a dense, rich finish, perfectly balanced by a clean acidity. The wine boasts fine, creamy, mouth coating tannins which contribute to a long, sophisticated finish.
